Boy

The progression of a doodle. Get a preview of my art process

I did this doodle while in my Business Policy notebook during class. I rarely draw guys so I thought to start trying. I didn’t draw anybody in specific, just a boy. The original doodle was in a blue ballpoint pen I borrowed from a friend in class.

The next time I had class I spruced him up by giving him some color. This nice weather was giving me spring time vibes so I decided on using the yellow and pink brush tip pens I had in my pencil case.

I really liked how he was coming out, so took a picture on my phone, uploaded it to my computer, and used Adobe Photoshop to help me out. I played with the Levels to color correct and used the Spot Healing Brush Tool to remove the lines from the lined paper.

The end result is a beautiful, printable illustration of a Boy! I might just make prints 🙂

That’s basically the gist of how my art process for illustrating normally goes. A sketch, coloring, uploading, then touching up with Photoshop. If you have any questions about it please don’t hesitate to comment, email, or DM me on my social media.
